PRESS RELEASE: Children Make Dinosaur Pie Puppets in Brighton

PRESS RELEASE

24th July

Children Make Dinosaur Pie Puppets

On Saturday 28th July, Brighton cooking company Cookery Doodle Doo are teaching children to bake Cherry Almond Pie-Pops with a pre-historic twist.

Pie-Pops (pies on sticks like lollypops) may be fashionable at the moment but in this class the children will take it one step further by adding hand-drawn eyes and big green dino feet!

Katie Elfer, Founder of Cookery Doodle Doo said “Sometimes it can take a lot of imagination to get the children to eat – let along cook for themselves.  My little boy is obsessed with dinosaurs at the moment so we loved the idea of creating some edible puppets together. The pie puppets we made had a very short stage-life, but tasted very nice. I hope the other children enjoy making and eating them as much as we did!”

This class is suitable for children aged 3-10 and held at Cbabiesafe Nursery in Hove. Children aged under 6 must be accompanied by a parent or carer.

Press Release: Lucky Worthing Children Cook for their Parents on Friday 13th

Last Friday children took over the restaurant at The Cavendish Hotel as part of events organised for the first Adur and Worthing Food Festival.

Children’s cooking company Cookery Doodle Doo taught youngsters to prepare a buffet feast of fresh scones, feta pastries, salads and fruit kebabs for their proud families.

Katie Elfer, founder of Cookery Doodle Doo “This was our first cooking class in Worthing and we couldn’t have been happier with the local response. The children enthusiastically catered for their mums, dads and even grandparents! When the class finished children literally ran to grab their families to show them the food – the excitement and pride in what they had created was really touching. Learning to cook can really boost children’s confidence and encourage a healthy attitude to food so it’s great to see the kids having such fun in the kitchen.  It was a lovely family evening and we are looking forward to coming back next month with a delicious Italian menu!”

The next cooking evening in Worthing is on Thursday 16th August. For more information on upcoming classes in Brighton and Worthing please contact Katie on 07588692955.

www.Brightonmums.com reviews us!

Thank you to Claire and Chelle at Brighton Mums for sending Louise to check out our recent ‘Tree-Hugging Food for the Figure-hugging Dress’ healthy baking event.

“The whole class had a lovely relaxed atmosphere, the children got stuck in and made lots of mess, the parents supervised and happily noted that it wasn’t their kitchen that was being dyed pink by all the beetroot everywhere and Katie seemed to really enjoy what she was doing…”
