We love a good children’s party at Cookery Doodle Doo! A party with us is not just about delicious food, but also the fun and excitement of creating it with your friends. For parents it should also mean as stress-free as possible! Just imagine… a party entertainer who helps the kids do their own catering: talk about ‘buy one, get one free’!
Book us for your child’s special day and we’ll bring our brand of fun, creative cookery to your chosen venue, keep the kids entertained and clear the mess up afterwards too!
What we provide:
Cookie Art
This party has also been described as a ‘Willy Wonka’ party! It’s lots of fun, lasts around one hour, and is suitable for all ages from 3 upwards, working particularly well for a mixed age group.
What we do:
Choose one design from crowns, flowers, various animals (such as ponies/unicorns, butterflies, teddies, owls), rockets, robots… or feel free to contact us to discuss other ideas. Our bakery has a huge selection of cutters!
Including magic paint, edible play-dough, candy floss, sprinkles, sweets, glitter and spray paint
Throughout the session!
The children love to dry their biscuits and layer the paint!
With regard to the venue, we just need a large table the children can move freely around, with enough ‘work space’ for each of them to stand and decorate their cookies all at the same time; plus additional space close-by for a separate small table (which we’ll bring) near a plug socket. No oven needed!
Due to the creative nature of the Cookie Art party, we suggest a maximum of around 12 children, particularly at the younger ages.
£160 for up to 10 children, and £7.50 for each additional child
Cookery Parties
Whichever option you choose, we’ll provide all the cooking equipment, ingredients, aprons, and a recipe card for each child of what they have made. We leave shortly after the bakes come out of the oven, taking all the washing-up with us. If you’re considering these options, please contact us to discuss the size of the oven (or fridge for chilled desserts) available, which will inform the maximum number of guests. Whilst we can (and do) work with ages 3+, these cookery parties are best-suited to ages 7 upwards – although younger siblings are welcome to join in the fun
Party Tea
We make enough to serve each child a 2-course meal (yes: this is the option that provides party entertainment and catering in one!). You can choose from the following, with more options available on request:
Each child bakes the same 2 recipes: £20 per head. Approx. 1½ to 2 hours from arrival time until they sit down to eat.
Bake Off
Why not emulate the technical challenge of The Great British Bake Off? We provide the ingredients and guidance for each child to cook the same family-sized pudding – the judging is optional! They can take it home ‘intact’, or maybe let them have just one slice to try what they’ve made! We have lots of recipes for you to choose from, but how do you like the sound of Banana Butterscotch Bake, Strawberry Flumble, Key Lime Pie, Bread and Butter Pudding, or Pineapple Upside Down Cake?
£16 per head. Approx. 1½ to 2 hours long, depending on the recipe and optional craft add-on.
Treats to Eat
Working individually or in pairs, the children make a small batch of a traditional (or less traditional) sweet bake. Brownies, Sunshine Muffins (lemon & poppy-seed with a lemon curd centre), Big Chocolate Cookies, Choc/Orange Bread pudding, Banana Bread Muffins or Granola Bites are just some of the options available. Whatever you choose, there’ll be enough to sample at the party, with the rest of the batch parcelled up to take home and share.
£12 per head. Approx 1 to 1½ hours long.
Optional Extras
Add on a craft activity
For the BAKE OFF or TREATS TO EAT options, you as the party host would need to entertain the children whilst their goodies bake (or chill). However, if you choose, we can bring a themed craft to keep them entertained whilst the oven/fridge works its magic (this add-on may be unnecessary for some recipes; we can advise when the time comes) – just £3 per head.
Party bags
For a small additional charge, we can also provide good quality party gifts for your guests at just £6 per head. We offer a choice of:
Traditional party-bags with a craft kit, cookie cutter, treats and toys each; or Cookie mix gift bags provided as a mixed selection of both shortbread and double choc-chip flavours (high-quality ingredients needing an addition of just melted butter) and which are personalised with your child’s name and their thanks for attending.
If any of the children have any special dietary requirements or allergies, please provide details early in the process so we can consider how best to accommodate this.
